On 6 February 2026, Belek Usenbekov, Deputy Head of the International Secretariat of the World Nomad Games, held a working meeting with Leonid Spiridonov, Minister of Physical Culture and Sport of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia).
The meeting addressed issues of cooperation in the field of national sports and traditional culture. For its part, the Secretariat congratulated the Russian side on the inclusion of the national wrestling style khapsagay in the main sports programme of the upcoming VI World Nomad Games.
The Secretariat also noted that the sport of mas-wrestling was included in the sports programme of the WNG in 2016, 2018 and 2026 in the Kyrgyz Republic, in 2022 in the Republic of Türkiye, and in 2024 in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
