A tunduk raising ceremony was held as part of the VI World Nomad Games with participants of the international research conference “Nomadic Civilisations: Heritage, Paradigms and Prospects”.
The tunduk was raised as a symbol of unity, friendship and solidarity between peoples. Representatives of Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Russia, China, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Mongolia, Austria, the United Kingdom, the United States, South Korea, India, France, Germany, Italy, Poland, Slovenia, Sweden, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Sri Lanka, Ghana, Saudi Arabia and other countries took part.
In the traditional culture of the Kyrgyz people, raising the tunduk is an important symbol of unity, accord and friendship. Raising it together symbolised the participants' commitment to developing international academic cooperation, mutual respect and stronger friendly ties between peoples.
The ceremony also allowed foreign guests to come closer to the cultural heritage of the Kyrgyz people and underlined once again how relevant the traditional values of nomadic civilisation remain in the modern world.
