The third day of the World Nomad Games continues in the Kyrchyn gorge with a series of cultural events reflecting the traditions and customs of the Kyrgyz people and the character of the nomadic civilisation.
A procession of the eleçek — the national headdress of Kyrgyz women — was held in the gorge.
In an unusual format, participants carried an eleçek 80 centimetres high and 1.5 metres across. Forty metres of fabric went into making it.
The procession was intended to popularise the national heritage of the Kyrgyz people, its traditions and customs, and to show the role and place of women in Kyrgyz culture.
The Kyrchyn gorge also hosts nomad villages from two cities and seven regions of Kyrgyzstan, where the historical and cultural elements of the nomadic civilisation are shown in full.
In these villages foreign guests and participants are shown national crafts, traditions and customs, national games and the rich cultural heritage of the Kyrgyz people.
