On 1 September the opening ceremony of the international ethno-music festival “Echo of the Nomads” was held at the Cholpon-Ata hippodrome as part of the VI World Nomad Games.
The ceremony was attended by the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic Ulan Mamatkanov and the Deputy Minister of Culture, Information and Youth Policy of the Kyrgyz Republic Salkyn Sarnogoeva.
The international festival is devoted to the musical heritage of nomadic peoples, traditional performing arts and national culture. It brings together performers from Kyrgyzstan and artists and ensembles from abroad.
At the opening ceremony the participants performed traditional pieces from their countries and showed their mastery of national instruments. The music reflected the history, traditions and cultural values of different peoples.
“Echo of the Nomads” brings the traditional music of different countries onto one stage, strengthening cultural ties and friendship between peoples.
