Kyrchyn, 2 September 2026. The national contest “The Best Kyrgyz Yurt” has begun in the Köchmöndör Ayyly ethno-cultural village as part of the cultural programme of the VI World Nomad Games.
Entrants present traditional Kyrgyz yurts, showing how they are put up, decorated and furnished, and how carefully the national traditions are kept.
The contest aims to preserve and popularise the Kyrgyz yurt as an important part of the material and spiritual heritage of the people.
Visitors to Köchmöndör Ayyly can see how yurts are traditionally furnished and the craft of entrants from every region of Kyrgyzstan.
